We got there in time for the Caravans to come passed and throw out free stuff. Some of the things they give out are Madelines (French cake), hats, chips, lollies, news papers, tops, water and magnets. It was so hot. Luckily we got a spot in the shade.
When the water came they don't chuck the water out like what they do with everything else, they pass it out.
Then we went to see some of the teams buses. The first one we saw was the Orica GreenEdge bus since they had the yellow jersey. We waved our Aussie flag and they asked us if we wanted to be in the music video clip they were filming. Only Aussie were allowed to do it and they only knew that we were Aussies because our flag so they asked some Frenchys to move out of the way for us. The Orica people handed out blow up guitars which we had to blow up. Then we had to practice our moves for the video clip. Finally Simon Gerrans came out wearing the yellow jersey and they filmed the clip.
Then my mum was interviewed by ABC news. I went next to her and smiled. Then we went to watch the cyclist come past to get to the start, and finally down to the start to see them start. I took a photo of the yellow jersey and green jersey next to each other as they started.
I had a awesome day. I rate it a 10 out of 10.
