Marseille

On Sunday the 16/06/2013 it was Father's Day. Daddy wanted to go to Marseille. We had a walk around the town. We had in mind to go on a petite train that went to the abbey Notre Dame. On the train we saw lots of stunning stuff we got there and walk up lots of stairs. I hate walking up stairs. We had walk around and we went in to the church. It was so cool, lots of gold.

Then we went into the crypt and had a look around. Crypts are normally are cold but in that one it was so so hot because of all the candles and people.  We caught the petite train back to the centre of Marseille and had some lunch for Fathers Day.

After lunch we Then we went to the Olympic Marseille shop. In it I got a cap and Emma got a t-shirt. We had an ice-cream and mum took a photo of us looking up to a really big mirror they have above everyone’s head.

Then we went on a boat trip to a place called Chateau d’If. It was a castle that was turned into a prison. We got our tickets and went in to the castle. In a part in the castle it was pitch black so I had a great idea to put the flash on my camera so took a photo. When I looked at the photo it turned out to be a like a secret passage.

In another part of the castle we saw a movie called “The Count of Monte Christo”. Mum told us it was a story about a man who was imprisoned on the island for committing no crime. He was going to marry someone but their cousin wanted to marry her to so the cousin said he was a Napoleonic traitor, so they sent him to jail, but he escaped and sought revenge on them. It is just a story. Then we went back to the boat back to Marseille. Then we went back to Aix en Provence.

It was a great day.
